Ann Cleeves, author of the acclaimed crime books Raven Black and White Nights, visited Shetland in May. In a series of events organised by the library, she visited Baltasound and Aith schools, Baltasound Community Library, Yell Writers' Group, Bressay Book Group and Whalsay Book Group, as well as hosting the local launch of White Nights at a special event in Lerwick Library. She was joined by local Archivist Brian Smith, who gave a talk on a real Shetland murder case from 150 years ago, and by Islesburgh Drama Group actors Katherine Jamieson and Melvyn Leask, who read from her book.
