Zimbabwe comes to Shetland

29th August 2008: just another Friday afternoon in the library...

Anyone looking for a quiet read was out of luck for the last hour, as we finished the week with a thrilling performance by Grassroots Theatre Development Group from Zimbabwe. The group was on a visit to Shetland funded by the Scottish Arts Council, Youth Music Initiative and Creative Links, SIC Education, and we were absolutely delighted when they agreed to perform in the Library. The Library was packed out - standing room only for this wonderful event - and the group didn't disappoint. Thanks to everyone who came to enjoy the show, and thanks especially to Grassroots for their energy, talent, graciousness and enthusiasm.
